Terms & Conditions


  1. Participants enter by placing any multiple horse racing bet online.

  2. Participants qualify to enter by opening an, and betting on, their Marshalls World of Sport account.

  3. The Promotion commences on 9 October 2019 and closes 28 February 2020 (promotion period).

  4. Prizes consist of a trip for 2 people to either The Queens Plate (11 January 2020), The Sun Met (1 February 2020), or the Durban July (4 July 2020). There will be 1 draw per month for each Horse Racing event.

  5. Lucky Draw Schedule for the prizes: a. 30 November 2019: Draw for the Queens Plate winner (11 January 2020) b. 06 January 2020: Draw for the Sun Met winner (1 February 2020) c. 28 February 2020: Draw for the Durban July Winner (4 July 2020)

Each prize experience includes:

  • 2x Hospitality tickets to the respective event, which includes: o An all-inclusive shared hospitality experience o View of the winning post o Entry into the Racecourse o Cocktail and lounge seating o Full-service catering o Complimentary premium bar – Champagne available to purchase o Screens with feed live feed of the racing action o Private tote facilities o Private VIP toilets o Fully serviced and staffed o Complimentary access to the after party

  • 2 nights accommodation at a 4* Hotel including breakfast

  • Return flights to the respective event & transfers to the hotel

  • Prize excludes: o Travel insurance o Items of a personal nature o Land transfers o Passport & Visa expenses & related costs o Meals & drinks not specified

(The maximum prize value is R20 000 per couple.)

  1. Should the winner be drawn from the region where the event is hosted, the flight & accommodation will be forfeited. No money will be compensated for this.

  2. Any changes to the prize itinerary and additional travel arrangements will be for the winner’s cost.

  3. The winner & their guest need to have a valid South African ID or Passport in order to claim the prize

  4. If for any reason the above prize is not available, Marshalls World of Sport reserves the right to substitute another item for it, in its sole discretion, of equal or higher value, subject to the approval of the Gambling Board.

  5. The winner may be required to sign an indemnity and exclusion of liability form and publicity waiver (provided by Marshalls World of Sport) in favour of all parties involved in this competition prior to taking the prize. If the major prize winner does not sign the indemnity form provided by Marshalls World of Sport within the time stipulated, the winner's entry or claim will be deemed invalid.

  6. All participants must be 18 years of age or older.

  7. Directors, management and employees (and their immediate families) of Marshalls World of Sport are not eligible to enter.

  8. The winner agrees to be photographed for publicity purposes, social media marketing and other marketing activities. No fees will be payable in this regard. No prize will be handed over until this agreement is signed.

  9. Marshalls World of Sport will use reasonable endeavours to notify the finalists by email and telephone, as well as the winner within two business days of the date on which the major prize winner is determined.

  10. In the event that the prize is not claimed within 1 week of the date of the draw, or if, after making reasonable attempts, Marshalls World of Sport cannot personally contact the prize winner after 1 week of the draw, that winner's entry will be deemed invalid and Marshalls World of Sport will draw another winner.

  11. Incomprehensible, incomplete or illegible entries will be deemed invalid and not permitted into the promotion.

  12. Marshalls World of Sport reserves the right to disqualify entries in the event of non-compliance with the conditions of entry or if, in the opinion of Marshalls World of Sport, an eligible entrant tampers with any entry mechanism in any way.

  13. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, Marshalls World of Sport (including its employees and agents) excludes the liability (including negligence), for any personal injury, or any loss of damage (including loss of opportunity), whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the competition.

  14. Any cost associated with accessing the Marshalls World of Sport website is the entrant's responsibility and is dependent on the internet service provider used.

  15. In the event of a dispute, an individual can contact the respective gambling regulatory body in their region for assistance.
